The ACT is a very important part of the college application process--but it’s not the only part. Some students struggle with writing a solid college essay. If you’re stuck, bogged down, uncertain, or just need a guiding hand, I’m here for you!
I have helped many students write college essays that represent them well. As a certified Language Arts teacher with a Master’s in Secondary Education, I’ve been teaching high school English classes, including International Baccalaureate and Advanced Placement classes for sixteen years. Package 1: Feedback and editing help, digitally
1 hour estimate, $75/hour
• Student writes an essay and shares a Google document (or other digital copy) with me.
• I provide feedback and suggestions on the digital copy. The student and I can correspond digitally, with no face-to-face contact.
Package 2: Guided help and feedback, in person & digitally
2 hour estimate, $75/hour
• Student meets with me in person to discuss ways to approach the essay, possible topics, and guided instruction on writing strategies.
• Student writes an essay and shares a Google document (or other digital copy) with me.
• I provide written feedback and suggestions on the digital copy. The student and I can correspond digitally, with no more face-to-face-contact.
Package 3: Guided help and feedback, in person
3 hour estimate, $75/hour
• Student meets with me in person to discuss ways to approach the essay, possible topics, and guided instruction on writing strategies.
• Student writes an essay and we meet again. I provide personal feedback and suggestions in person, revising as we go during this hour.
• Student and I meet again and I read the revised draft, providing feedback and suggestions until the student and I are satisfied with the quality of the essay.
Package 4: Guided help and feedback, some combination of in person and digitally, as the parent/student decides.
